The novel "Shajarat al-Durr" is part of a series of novels about the history of Islam. The novel deals with the story of Shajarat al-Durr as the first female queen to rule in the history of Islamic Egypt, as fate decreed that she would be crowned queen of Egypt after the murder of King "Turan Shah", the last sultan of the Ayyubid dynasty. Her assumption of power coincided with tragic events witnessed by the Islamic political reality on the international level at that time, as the Abbasid Caliphate fell with the Tatar invasion of Baghdad, which had been the center of the Caliphate for five hundred years, and the seat of the Caliphate moved to Egypt after that. Her period of rule also coincided with the arrival of the King of France, Louis IX, himself at the head of the Crusader armies to eliminate Egypt as the most powerful Islamic state at that time. Despite all these challenges imposed by the international reality, Shajarat al-Durr was able to manage the affairs of the country with competence and authority.
