The novel The Blue Pupil addresses an event that Egypt and the Arab world are witnessing for the first time, by simulating the reality of society that the blind heroine of the novel (Donia Sarhan) suffered from. Intertwined are human relationships, life details and their repercussions on the characters of the novel, contemporary societal diseases such as Internet addiction and electronic drugs, and the disadvantages of the virtual world and its consequences.
